You can find numerous web sites offering pills which claim that they will help you lose weight but do they work and are they safe?  The answer is generally NO and WHO KNOWS. Although it is tempting to think that you can pop a pill and lose weight without changing anything else, this is wishful thinking.

In fact there are calls for greater regulation of products that claim a medicinal benefit meaning that they should be treated (and tested) like drugs.
